Green Waste is accepted at the Eastern Regional MRF year-round to help maintain Defensible Space for wildfire season. And during key months of the year, there are free drop-off and discounted dumpster rental options.

Available Monday – Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., May 1 – October 31
Bring up to 6 yards of green waste to the Eastern Regional Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
- Multiple trips allowed for a total of 6 yards
- Tarp your load and line truck beds with a tarp for easy unloading
- Must empty your own load
- No food, pet, or construction waste
- No dirt, sod, or rocks
- Bring ID and proof of residence

Special Events
Placer County periodically sponsors Defensible Space events in the summer, where residents are invited to self haul green waste to central collection points. Event dates and details are locally advertised prior to occurrence, or contact us for details.
Green Waste Dumpster Rental Program
Available May 1 – July 31
- Rent a low-cost 6 yard bin
- Apply 6 yard drop-off credit for further savings
- We deliver the bin and pick it up a week later
